Remove a piece of baseboard from the edge of the space where the flooring will be removed to provide access to the edge of the parquet flooring.
Slip a pry bar underneath the corner of one piece of flooring. Gently lift the pry bar until the edge of the flooring is slightly off the flooring base.
Direct the heat gun toward the area where the wood has been lifted, holding the gun 3 to 6 inches from the floor.
Peel the flooring upward as the heat from the gun begins to liquefy the adhesive securing the wood to the floor. Move the gun along the flooring, continually repositioning the heat gun as the flooring begins to be released so the solidified glue is heated as you gently pull upward.
Scrape between the flooring and concrete floor base to encourage stubborn areas to release from the floor. Use gentle force when the heat gun is temporarily pointed away from the area.
Remove each piece of parquet flooring as it is lifted from the floor base, and repeat the process with each board until all of the desired flooring has been removed.
Store the removed parquetry face down to prevent any glue that may still be tacky from the heat from sticking to other surfaces. Once the glue has dried completely, the flooring can be stacked for storage or disposal.
