Remove everything from the garage that touches the floor surface, including work benches and shelves.
Prepare the surface of the garage by removing any grease stains, dirt or oil spots. Use a concentrated cleanser made for grease and oil stains and scrub away spots using a soft-bristled brush and water. Rinse the garage floor thoroughly with a hose and allow it to air dry before moving on.
Mix the epoxy coating according to the manufacturer's instructions. Most require two different mixes to be combined. Allow the coating to sit for the standing time listed on the instructions before use.
Start in the back corner of the garage and work in a 4-by-4-feet section. Apply the epoxy coating with the squeegee into the corners and edges of the section first. Use a paint roller to apply a thin coat of the epoxy to the flat surface of the garage. Sprinkle decorative paint chips over the freshly coated area. Move onto the next 4-by-4-feet section until you cover the entire garage.
Allow the garage floor to sit according to the instruction time. Most kits take at least 12 hours for walking and 24 hours for heavy items such as work benches and seven days for it to cure fully for a vehicle.
