A heat gun is the most recommended way to remove laminate flooring, especially if you intend to save the pieces for later use; however, there is another option. Manually removing the boards and using a scraping tool to scrape away any glue that remains on the floor is the most energy- and cost-efficient option for removing the flooring. The trade-off is that this approach can be a lot of work and is very exhausting and time consuming.

1
Put on your safety glasses and gloves to protect your eyes and keep your hands from splinters.

2
Pick a spot to start tearing out the flooring and work the crowbar under a plank. Press the crowbar’s lever down and the plank will crack and come loose. Once the first plank is out, you can usually pull out the other pieces in strips.
