Pull the edges or torn corners of the stair tread up from the stair platform.
Spread adhesive on the stair tread backing. Use the same adhesive you used when you first attached the stair platform.
Press the section onto the stair platform and hold it in place for several minutes until it initially sets. If the section was torn, press the pieces together to hide the rip.
Let the adhesive dry for several hours according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Don’t walk on the tread during this period.
Pull the ripped or pulled-up corners of the tread from the stair platform.
Cut an appropriate-size piece of double-sided carpet tape. Peel off one side of the tape and stick it to the back of the carpet tread.
Pull off the other side of the carpet tape backing.
Press the carpet tread onto the stair platform and hold it for several seconds.
