Pole jacks are used in basements to raise floors and provide support while permanent support posts are being installed. Sagging floors occur in many older homes with basements that are prone to dampness. Natural settling of a home over a period of years also contributes to the issue. With the new support posts in place, the pole jacks can be lowered. You can perform the work with basic home improvement skills.
