Sweep the floor with a nonabrasive broom to eliminate dirt without scratching the vinyl surface.
Fill the bucket with 2 to 3 gallons of warm water and pour 2 teaspoons of dishwashing liquid soap into the bucket. Hot water is not advisable to clean the floors because extremely hot water removes moisture from the floor and can increase the cloudy appearance.
Dip the mop into the bucket's cleaning solution. Squeeze excess moisture from the mop to avoid overwetting the vinyl surface.
Wipe the floor in an upward motion to both wash and loosen the previous solution's residue.
Wet a soft cloth with warm water and rub the wet cloth onto the floor to thoroughly rinse the surface.
Buff with a soft cloth to dry the vinyl floor.
