Instructions

  1. Preventing Mold Growth

    • 1

Open windows and doors to help dry out the wet areas. Set up fans to circulate air and help the area dry out more quickly.

    • 2

Wash any wet items thoroughly with detergent and clean water. Items should be washed within 24 hours of becoming wet. Any porous items that cannot be cleaned and dried completely, such as furniture, should be removed. Carpet, carpet padding and drywall that has become wet should be removed.

    • 3

Wash surface areas with a bleach and water mixture. Use no more than 1 cup of bleach to 1 gallon of water. Be sure to wear protective eye wear and non-porous gloves. Use a stiff brush to scrub the areas clean.
