How to Remove Indentations in a Vinyl Floor

Vinyl floors are not only attractive, but they have the added advantages of being relatively inexpensive and easy to install. Indentations in vinyl floors can occur in a number of ways, including heavy objects falling on the floor or the constant pressure from a heavy piece of furniture. A piece of vinyl floor tiling that is severely damaged should be replaced. Although you can also remove the damaged part of the tile and insert a patch in its place, try a simple method of removing the indented area first.

Instructions

    • 1

Gently pry out the piece of vinyl tile with a putty knife.

    • 2

Flip the piece of tile over. Pop the indentation back into place with the backside of a spoon.

    • 3

Place some extra floor adhesive under the area with the indentation with a putty knife. The added adhesive will help hold the indented area in place.

    • 4

Place the tile back into place on the floor.

    • 5

Apply a seam sealer along the edges of the tile and allow it to set.
