Over time, once shiny and clean galvanized steel will become dirty and old looking. Revitalizing this steel is really quite easy. Galvanized steel is regular steel that has been hot dipped in a zinc solution, which becomes part of its surface. Zinc surfaces oxidize when exposed to the elements. This does not effect the steel's integrity or performance, but it does not look as nice as when it is shiny. Cleaning galvanized steel can be accomplished with materials commonly found around the home.
