Instructions

    • 1

Lower the water level in the hot tub to a spot 4 to 5 inches below the crack in the hot tub shell.

    • 2

Wait three to four hours for the shell to dry before attempting the repair. You must ensure that the surface is completely dry before continuing.

    • 3

Wipe down the area around the crack gently with a clean cloth.

    • 4

Insert a tube of acrylic sealant into a caulking gun so that the tip is pointing outward.

    • 5

Slice the tip of the acrylic sealant at a 45-degree angle with a utility knife.

    • 6

Press the tip of the sealant to the top of the crack. Squeeze the trigger on the caulking gun and draw it across the length of the crack. Extend the sealant past the end of the crack by about 1 inch.

    • 7

Smooth down the acrylic sealant with the end of a putty knife so that the sealant is evenly spread across the crack.

    • 8

Wait 24 hours for the sealant to set. Ensure that the sealant does not get wet during this period. You can even cover the hot tub to protect the sealant from any rain. Once the sealant has cured, you can refill the hot tube to its proper level.
