  Open the Quikrete bag or bags and pour them into the cement-mixing tub. The mixing tub must have a capacity of 1 cubic foot for each 80-pound bag of Quikrete to enable you to mix the concrete thoroughly.

  Add six pints of water for each 80-pound bag of Quikrete, and begin stirring the concrete well with the shovel.

  Continue mixing to incorporate the water throughout all the dry ingredients. If the concrete becomes too stiff, add up to three additional pints of water (for each 80-pound bag) until the Quikrete is thick, yet you can still stir it. Stir until all the dry materials are moist.
