How to Remove a Nest From a Window

Birds sometimes build nests in less than ideal places, such as around a window. This is not only inconvenient to you but also potentially dangerous for the birds. Children or pets could dismantle the nest and potentially destroy any eggs inside. The birds, after realizing the danger, might also have to abandon the nest. It's best for all involved to remove the nest as the birds are building it to encourage them to find a safer place. Always check your area's regulations, as it is illegal to dismantle active nests that contain eggs of certain types of birds. You can remove any nest before the birds lay their eggs.

Instructions

    • 1

Wait until the birds have left the nest. If you disturb the nest while the birds are present, they might pester you injure themselves --- or even you.

    • 2

Put on gloves to protect yourself from bacteria.

    • 3

Pick up the nest and put it in a plastic bag. Throw the bag away.

    • 4

Repeat the process as often as necessary until the birds move to another, safer area.
