How to Remove Splatter From an Asphalt Concrete Driveway

Your driveway is often the most convenient flat surface for storing items like paint supplies and plastering equipment during exterior remodeling projects. Unfortunately, even if you are very careful, drips and spills are common when using viscous liquid products. If your previously pristine driveway is covered in the remnants of your restoration activities, use proper materials to remove dried paint, plaster and other splatters.

Things You'll Need

  • Soy-based all-purpose stripper

Instructions

    • 1

Choose a soy-based all-purpose stripper, which can be rinsed away outdoors without worry for the environment or groundwater.

    • 2

Apply the stripper to all of the splattered stains. Paint on the stripper generously, or you may have to repeat this process.

    • 3

Let the stripper sit for 30 minutes. Use a power washer filled with plain water to rinse the driveway. The loosened splattered material will peel away under the force of the water.

    • 4

Scrape up any small remaining areas of paint or other substances, using the paint scraper. Use the scraper at a 45-degree angle to avoid gouging the concrete.
