Spray stained or discolored areas of the driveway with a detergent designed to work with pressure washers, or a commercial degreaser. Allow the cleaner to set in according to the instructions.
Scrub the driveway stains soaked with cleanser with a utility broom or scrub brush that has soft nylon bristles. Hard nylon bristles can scrub away the paint.
Remove the cap from the pressure washer's detergent dispenser, and fill it with a pressure washer detergent.
Set up the pressure washer according to the manufacturer's instructions. Screw a 50-foot or shorter garden hose to the pressure washer's water inlet valve. Connect the spray gun, wand and low pressure tip to the unit.
Turn on the water.
Start the motor on the pressure washer.
Move the pressure washer wand over the driveway using long, even strokes. Hold the nozzle of the pressure washer 8 to 18 inches from the surface of the driveway if the PSI is between 2200 to 3000, or 12 to 30 inches from the surface if the PSI is over 3000.
Allow the detergent to sit on the surface of the painted concrete for 5 to 10 minutes. Don't allow the detergent to dry; spray it with a light water if needed.
Set the pressure washer to rinse, then spray the detergent off the driveway.
Put a high pressure tip for concrete on the end of the wand. Then rinse the surface of the painted concrete driveway. Allow the driveway to dry thoroughly for 72 hours.
Remove the lid from the sealer, and then stir it up.
Pour sealer in paint tray.
Apply the sealer to the edges of the driveway with a paint brush.
Apply the sealer to the rest of the driveway with a roller. Work from the middle of the driveway out, and work in small sections.
Allow the sealer to dry according to the manufacturer's directions.
