How to Wash Stucco Off a House With a Pressure Washer

Stucco is an attractive, low-maintenance and long-lasting finish for the exterior of your home. Because it is made up of plaster and concrete, it is more energy efficient than many of its counterparts. It's ability to resist fire and varying weather conditions make it suitable for many different climates. Stucco can be easily maintained with an occasional pressure washing and scrubbing with an appropriate cleaner.

Instructions

    • 1

Repair cracks in stucco less than 1/8 inch in width with household paint. Fill cracks larger than this with brushable elastomeric sealant.

    • 2

Allow any repair work to cure thoroughly according to the manufacturer's instructions before pressure washing.

    • 3

Place a tarp over plants and bushes to protect them from overspray and bleach.

    • 4

Spray stains with a mixture of household bleach and water or a concentrated cleaner designed for use on stucco and other exterior surfaces. Bleach can be added to the cleaner if the label recommends it.

    • 5

Let the mixture sit on the stucco for five to 10 minutes.

    • 6

Use a pressure washer on a lower pressure setting to rinse the cleaning solution off the stucco. Raise the pressure slightly, as needed, to remove excessive dirt or staining.
