How to Keep a Snow Machine From Tipping

Snow machines, also referred to as snow blowers or throwers, are effective at clearing snow from driveways, sidewalks and the street. The machine sucks up snow and spits it out elsewhere to clear the intended path. Sometimes these machines will tip, requiring the user to turn off the machine and prop it back up. This makes the process of clearing the snow more tedious. You can try several things to prevent the machine from tipping.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove enough snow with a snow shovel to create a flat surface on the ground to place the snow machine. Starting the machine on a flat surface will help to keep it from tipping.

    • 2

Push the snow machine slowly. Often the machine will propel itself forward; you need to only guide it. If it doesn't propel itself because of slippery surfaces or heavy snow, use medium force to push it forward. Using too much force can tip the machine.

    • 3

Pick up small patches of snow at a time. Pushing the machine too fast to pick up snow quickly can overload the machine, which will often cause it to tip.

    • 4

Look for and avoid holes or uneven surfaces while using the machine. Uneven surfaces can tip the machine.
