Don your protective gear. Ensure all flammable materials have been removed from the area, and do not wear flammable clothing. Run the saw for 15 minutes on full throttle. Check that the blade runs true and there are no problems with the saw. Any problems or chips in the blade will increase sparking.
Pick the correct blade for the job. Consult your hardware professional to ascertain whether the blade you are using is the right one. Using the wrong blade will increase sparking.
Set the saw to a slower speed. The slower speed will reduce sparking and increase the longevity of your blade.
Lubricate the blade shaft before use, and grease the rear wheel after every 40 hours of use. Tighten belts after every 2 hours of use, and return them to the original factory tension. Keeping your saw lubricated and the belt tight will keep your saw operating at optimal levels with little sparking.
