Lay the flexible irrigation line in the sun for 15 minutes. Place the flexible irrigation line in the system's trench, allowing the sun-heated pipe to lay flat in the trench.
Slip the end of the flexible irrigation line into a PVC pipe cutter's jaws and squeeze the cutter's handles. The irrigation line should have a straight, burr-free cut end.
Slip a stainless steel pipe clamp over the cut end of the flexible irrigation line. Position the clamp 6 to 10 inches from the end of the flexible line.
Force the barbed end of the appropriate flexible irrigation pipe fitting into the cut end of the flexible line. Continue to push the fitting into the irrigation line until the end of the line overlaps the fitting's last barb. The appropriate pipe fitting depends on the fitting's application and placement in the irrigation system.
Slide the stainless steel pipe clamp over the part of the flexible irrigation line that covers the fitting's barbs. Position the clamp about a half-inch from the end of the flexible line.
Slip the blades of the pipe-clamp crimping tool over the stainless steel pipe clamp and squeeze the crimping tool's handles until the jaws close completely. Remove the crimping tool.
Connect each flexible irrigation line fitting using the same method.
