Instructions

    • 1

Pull shrubs and plants back away from the foundation and secure them with rope or cords to keep the foliage from touching the foundation.

    • 2

Wash the stone foundation thoroughly with the garden hose and the scrub brush to remove surface dirt and debris. Scrub carefully to clean the stones completely and hose off the stones to rinse away any residual dirt. Allow the stones to dry for at least 48 hours after scrubbing.

    • 3

Place drop cloths over the ground to prevent messes from dripping paint.

    • 4

Apply the latex primer to the stone foundation with the paintbrush. Work carefully to apply a thin and even layer of primer over the foundation to coat it completely. Allow the primer to dry completely before proceeding.

    • 5

Paint the primed surface with the exterior latex paint. Use the same paintbrush to cover the primed stone with an even layer of paint. Work until you apply the paint completely. Allow the first coat of paint to dry completely.

    • 6

Apply a second coat of paint over the stone surface, if you desire, using the same technique. Allow the paint to dry completely.

    • 7

Remove the drop cloths. Remove the rope or cords from the landscape plants.
