Repairing Patio Pebble

Sweep the surface of the epoxy pebble patio to remove dirt and debris and to collect any loose pebbles. Dispose of any loose pebbles collected along with the debris.

Repair any holes or missing spots in the pebble surface by replacing the lost material with matching pebbles. Prepare the replacement epoxy pebble by mixing a batch of the two-part epoxy in a small bucket with a wooden stir stick. Mix about a quart of the epoxy using the ratios provided by the manufacturer.

Add the matching replacement pebbles to the epoxy, stirring the epoxy over the pebbles with the stick until the pebbles are completely covered in the mixture. The amount of epoxy needed to cover the pebbles will vary according to pebble size; just keep adding pebbles to the epoxy until you’ve covered the pebbles added and there is no loose epoxy remaining. You want the resulting material to be a thick mixture of the epoxy and pebbles.

Press the replacement pebble mix into the hole with a trowel, filling the hole completely, and then use the trowel to level the patch with the surrounding epoxy surface.

Fill cracks in the epoxy pebble flooring using the two-part epoxy without additional pebbles. Clear out the crack with a nylon brush. Mix the epoxy in a small bucket and then use a putty knife to press the epoxy into the crack, filling until it is level with the rest of the surface.

Prevent the loss of pebbles from a loose surface with a new epoxy topcoat. Mix the epoxy and then use a paint roller with an extension pole attached to spread the epoxy across the surface of the patio, sealing the pebbles in place.

Allow the epoxy repairs to dry completely before using the patio. Drying times will vary according to the epoxy brand used. Consult the manufacturer's instructions for the recommended time for your specific epoxy product.
