How to Track on Vinyl Cutter

With a vinyl cutter, you are able to evenly cut long pieces of vinyl in under half the time it would take to do it with a table saw. In order to ensure that a vinyl cutter cuts the vinyl evenly, the cutter needs to be properly tracked. Most of the problems with a vinyl cutter's tracking involve the cutter's surface being so dirty that it causes the vinyl to improperly load into the machine. These problems are fixable without any special tools needed.

Instructions

    • 1

Wipe away any dirt clumps or anything else on the vinyl. If the vinyl has chunks of stuff on it, the cutter will bog down and most likely create an uneven cut. Use a mixture of soap and water if you cannot brush away the buildup with your hand.

    • 2

Remove any buildup on the cutting blade. This will ensure that the blade cuts straight.

    • 3

Feed the vinyl evenly into the machine. Take your time and make sure that the vinyl is flush up against the feeder.

    • 4

Press the "Feed" button. The vinyl feeds into the cutter. If the piece if extremely long, hold the back of it so that it is fed evenly into the cutter.
