How to Repair Concrete Porch Corners

Put on work gloves, glasses and a mask. Scrub the entire damaged area of the concrete porch using a wire brush to remove all loose material from the area.

Cut a piece of plywood into two pieces that are 1 to 2 feet wide, depending on how far out the damage extends along the porch corner. The length of the boards should extend down to the solid portion of the porch under the broken corner, typically 1 to 2 feet. Turn both boards on their sides and place them in an “L” shape. Secure one board to the other using wood screws and a power drill. If the damaged area is small, use 1-inch by 3-inch boards instead of plywood.

Place the “L” frame up to the corner of the porch and tape it in place with long strips of duct tape. Use as much tape as needed until the frame hangs firmly.

Open a can of cooking spray, and spray the interior of the wood thoroughly to prevent the concrete patch from sticking.

Open a can of latex bonding liquid, and insert a paint brush into it. Brush the mixture onto all broken surfaces of the broken porch corner.

Open a bag of quick-setting concrete mix, and pour it into a 5-gallon bucket. Add 1 part of acrylic fortifier liquid for every 5 parts of concrete, and mix the two using a trowel.

Scoop up the mixture using a trowel, and press it into the wooden mold at the corner until it rises to the top. Smooth the top out evenly.

Wait 24 hours to allow the repair to dry. Detach the duct tape and the plywood from the concrete porch.
