Hanging Lights Around the Garage Door Frame

Hanging lights around a garage door frame can be both a way to celebrate the holiday season and a way to keep your family safe from slips and trips. One of the keys in hanging lights around a garage door frame is to make sure you have a power source nearby and that you are using lights made for outdoor use. You will need to purchase a package of wire hanging clips.

Take the lights out of their package and unravel them. Do not plug them in until you are finished stringing them to the door frame. Place your ladder so you can reach the top of the door frame. Climb the ladder with your wire clips.

Find the middle of the top of the door frame. Hammer a wire clip to that spot if it is the type that comes with a small nail. If it is applied with an adhesive back, take the small piece of paper off the back of the wire clip and stick it to the spot.

Work your way across the top of the door frame, putting wire clips six inches apart. Do the same along the sides of the door frame. Once you are finished, hang the lights on the clips and plug them into your power source.
