Load your caulking gun with a 10-oz. tube of roof sealant. Snip off the end of the sealant and test the gun on a piece of scrap wood or some other scrap surface.
Apply a bead of roof sealant around the curling edge of the ridge cap.
Press down the ridge cap, creating a seal between the ridge cap and the roof.
Place a brick on either side of the ridge cap to hold down the edges while the roof sealant dries.
Load the caulk gun with roofing sealant as described in Section 1, Step 1.
Apply a bead of roofing sealant under the cracked ridge cap.
Press the ridge cap into the roofing sealant. Apply a second bead of sealant over the cap.
Place a brick on the ridge over the cap if any curling is preventing the cap from laying flat in the sealant while it dries.
