How to Hook Up Wire to Turn on a Lightbulb

Hooking up electrical wire to a light switch will allow you to turn on the lightbulb. The electrical wire has to be attached to the correct terminals on the switch in order to turn on the lightbulb. The light switch has three terminal screws to attach the wiring to. Attaching the wires to the wrong terminals will not only cause the lightbulb not to work, but can result in an electrical short or fire.
