How to Reset an Arcoflame Oil Burner

An oil burner is a staple HVAC appliance for people in cooler climates. Oil burners burn clean petroleum-based fuel in order to produce heat, and they typically require little maintenance. If you have just changed the oil in your Arcoflame Oil Burner or the burner has failed to turn on for any other reason, the first step in troubleshooting the burner is to reset the system.

Instructions

    • 1

Check the fuel tank on your oil burner. If it is running low on oil, fill the tank.

    • 2

Turn the main circuit breaker switch on the oil burner to the "Off" position. Let the oil burner sit for five minutes.

    • 3

Turn the main circuit breaker switch on the oil burner to the "On" position.

    • 4

Press the red "Reset" button that is located on top of the furnace and hold it down for five seconds. The oil burner will be reset and start automatically after approximately 60 seconds. Do not press the button more than once as you risk flooding the combustion chamber and causing an explosion when the burner does start.
