Aprilaire 6202 Troubleshooting

The Aprilaire 6202 is a Zoned Comfort Control System that allows you to regulate your heating or cooling unit's temperature. Designed for both single stage heating and cooling units, the 6202 allows you to direct conditioned or heated air to separate zones based on each zone's thermostat settings. Although this may save you money on heating and cooling costs, your unit may not function optimally if your control system runs into some issues. A few troubleshooting guidelines may improve your device's functionality.

Instructions

    • 1

Make sure the mode switch is in the "Heat" position if you're heater is producing heat. Check the set point temperature, and make sure it's higher than the room temperature displayed on the screen. Wait a few minutes if your unit doesn't turn on right away, because it may have a minimum-off time delay feature.

Move the mode switch to the "Cool" position if your air conditioning unit isn't cooling. Press the up or down arrow buttons to adjust the set point temperature. Make sure the temperature you select is lower than the one displayed on the screen or your air conditioner will not cool.

Turn on the fan if you don't feel a cool or hot breeze depending on the unit you're using. Locate the fan switch on the Aprilaire control panel and turn it on. You may also need to turn on the fan at your thermostat if you want continuous fan operation in all the zones.
