How to Reset a Delay Circuit

A time delay circuit is used to control high current output at a low voltage. This circuit does this by generating the current in pulses, which uses less power. This generates a time delay in the circuit. If you have a time delay circuit controlling electrical output in your home it is found in the breaker box. And it is from the breaker box that you can reset the circuit.

Instructions

    • 1

Locate the electrical panel in your home. It is the panel that contains the circuit breakers and is likely located in a storage area of your home, such as the basement or garage.

    • 2

Open the panel door and locate the delay circuit breaker. If it has been tripped there could be a red color on the switch.

    • 3

Flip the switch to the "Off" position.

    • 4

Flip the switch to the "On" position. If the delay circuit still isn't functioning it is likely faulty and will need to be completely replaced.
