Unscrew the existing door strike and replace it with the door strike supplied by the electric door manufacturer, using a slotted screwdriver.
Insert the primary dead bolt protruding from the lock mounting plate or main lock into the door strike, then adjust the position of the mounting plate to meet the required gap between the mounting plate and the strike. Align the mounting plate horizontally with a level, then draw an outline of the plate with a pencil.
Drill the required number of holes that will be used to screw the mounting plate onto the door, using the template supplied by the lock manufacturer as a guide. Place the aluminum channel vertically along the path of the mounting plate and adjust the position of the channel according to the measurements provided by the lock manufacturer.
Align the channel vertically using a level. Screw the mounting brackets onto each end of the channel. Screw the mounting plate onto the holes you drilled earlier to cover the channel. Run the electrical cable from the electric lock to the control box that came with the lock, using cable staples to fasten the cable onto surfaces.
Close the door and mark the spot at the top and bottom of the channel where each dead bolt will fall, using a marker. Drill the required size of hole at each marked spot, using an impact drill to drill on the floor and a hole saw to drill on the door jamb on top of the channel. Install the bottom and top strike with a screwdriver.
Strip off 2 inches from the cable sheathing with diagonal pliers, then strip off 1/2 inch from the tip of each wire with a wire stripper. Screw each wire to its corresponding terminal inside the control box following the manufacturer's wiring configuration. Plug the control box to its power supply, then test the door to see if the power lock can be activated.
