How to Wire a Smart Meter

Smart meters are quickly replacing the older, mechanical meters used to monitor energy use. They differ from traditional energy use meters in that they have no internal moving parts and are capable of providing home and business owners with a large quantity of energy use data. Although smart meters are capable of transmitting large amounts of data, relatively few wires are required for installation. Further, the installation process does not require specialized tools or equipment. All that is required is shielded cable and basic wire cutters and strippers.
