Instructions

    • 1

Turn off power to the breaker panel at the main breaker or power service entrance.

    • 2

Remove the screws holding the cover on the breaker panel. Pull the cover off the panel and set it aside.

    • 3

Use a flat screwdriver to remove one of the knockouts from the side of the breaker panel. Insert a cable clamp in the knockout hole and secure it with the included nut. Feed the wire through the clamp and into the breaker panel. Tighten the screw on the clamp to hold the wire in place.

    • 4

Cut the wire to length and strip off the outer jacket up to the cable clamp. Strip a half-inch of insulation off each of the conductors in the wire.

    • 5

Slide the stripped end of the bare or green wire into an empty terminal on the ground bus, and tighten the terminal screw. Connect the white wire to a terminal on the neutral bus, and tighten the screw.

    • 6

Install the 60-amp breaker in the panel according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

    • 7

Slide the end of the red wire under one terminal on the breaker and slide the end of the black wire under the other terminal. Tighten the terminal screws securely.

    • 8

Install the cover on the breaker panel and turn on the power.
