Turn off the circuit breaker at the electrical service that provides power to the electrical junction box. Loosen and remove the screws holding the electrical junction box cover to the junction box. Remove the junction box cover.
Place the mounting bar diagonally across the junction box. Align the mounting bar screw holes with the screw holes in the junction box. Insert the mounting screws through both the mounting bar and junction box screw holes, and tighten the screws to hold the mounting bar firmly to the junction box.
Insert the threaded pipe through the center hole in the mounting bar. Align the back side of the chandelier canopy with the threaded pipe. Adjust the length of the pipe until the threads on the chandelier screw collar loop extend into the back of the canopy to a depth of approximately 3/8 of an inch. Screw the lock nut to the mounting bar to hold the threaded pipe firmly to the mounting bar.
Pull the wires from the junction box forward so the wire ends are sticking out of the junction box. Use the electrical pliers to curl the end of the non-insulated, or grounding, wire so that it makes a hook at the end of the wire. Loosen the grounding screw on the mounting bar, and place the grounding wire into the space between the head of the screw and the mounting bar. Tighten the grounding screw so that it holds the grounding wire firmly to the mounting bar.
Use the electrical pliers to twist the white wire from the junction box together with the neutral wire from the chandelier. If the chandelier has one black wire and one white wire, twist the white wire from the junction box together with the white wire with the chandelier. If the chandelier contains two lamp-style wires, twist together the chandelier wire that has either a silver-colored conductor wire, square-shaped insulation or labeling on the wire. Make sure to twist the wire in a clockwise twist. Twist one of the wire nuts clockwise on to the electrical joint.
Use the electrical pliers to twist the black wire from the junction box together with the hot wire from the chandelier. If the chandelier has one black wire and one white wire, twist the black wire from the junction box together with the black wire with the chandelier. If the chandelier contains two lamp-style wires, twist together the chandelier wire that has either a copper-colored conductor wire or round-shaped insulation. Make sure to twist the wire in a clockwise twist. Twist one of the wire nuts clockwise on to the electrical joint.
Tuck the wiring into the junction box. Attach the canopy to the junction box by inserting the remaining junction box mounting screws through both the canopy screw holes and the junction box screw holes. Tighten the screws to complete the installation.
