Check to see if you have electrical power in other areas of your home. You may be experiencing a power outage.

    • 2

Examine the circuit breaker or fuse box. You may have tripped a circuit or blown a fuse. Reset the circuit breaker or replace burned-out fuses.

    • 3

Inspect the plug and electrical cord for any signs of visible damage. Check the outlet with another small appliance to determine if the outlet is receiving power. If the outlet has a reset button, push the reset. If the outlet is working properly, plug in your Bosch SHX46 washer again and press the start button. Never use an extension cord. Your Bosch dishwasher should be plugged in directly to the outlet.

    • 4

Detach the toe plate at the bottom of your Bosch SHX46 dishwasher, using a small Phillips screwdriver. Look for burnt or broken wires. Determine if the panel gives off a burnt odor. If it does, a wire may have shorted.

    • 5

Examine the area where the power cord enters the dishwasher. The main suppressor inside the machine can blow out. Removing the plastic plate should reveal the suppressor. Inspect the suppressor and replace it if visible signs of failure are evident.

Observe the display panel. If lights do not illuminate, you may have a defective control panel. Contact an authorized Bosch service technician to have the panel tested. Repair or replace the panel if needed.
