All of the electrical appliances in your home receive and transmit the electricity that makes them functional through their wiring. A portion of your air-conditioner's wiring runs from the thermostat on your wall to the main appliance. These wires control your temperature settings. A second set of wires run from the air-conditioner's capacitor to the motor. You must disconnect both sets of wires when disconnecting your air-conditioner completely.
