Shut off the electricity to the room at the circuit breaker. This is a standard safety precaution even if you do not think there is already a cable or electrical wiring behind the wall.
Drill a 2-inch-diameter hole in the wall at the two spots where the conduit will enter and exit. For example, if you are installing a dryer power receptacle, cut a hole where the power socket will be attached.
Push the end of the fish tape into the first hole at an angle so the end slides between the insulation and the inside of the wall. Guide the tape slowly to the second hole.
Attach the end of the conduit to the looped hook on the end of the fish tape at the second hole.
Pull the tape and the conduit back toward the first hole. When the end of the fish tape emerges from the hole, pull out the conduit at least 12 inches so it cannot fall inside the hole until you are ready to connect the conduit to a breaker box on one end and a power socket on the other.
