Turn off your car and remove the ignition key. Locate the fuse that controls the power to the sound system's head unit by consulting your car's owner's manual or fuse diagram. Pull the fuse out and set it aside.
Remove your Alpine deck's faceplate by pressing the release lever and pulling it toward you. Set the faceplate aside.
Insert the bracket keys that came with your Alpine deck into the narrow slots on each side of the deck. Press the keys into the slots until they can't go in any further.
Grip the front of the Alpine deck and pull it outward so the deck slides out of its mounting sleeve.
Disconnect the wiring harness that supplies power to the deck by unplugging the clip-in coupling once it's exposed. Remove the deck the rest of the way and take it to a clean work area.
Open your Alpine deck by removing the small screws that hold the deck's case together with a precision screwdriver. Consult the Alpine owner's manual for screw locations and detailed disassembly instructions.
Locate the LED lighting inside the deck. In most Alpine decks, there are multiple LED light sources, including small bulbs and LED panels that provide backlighting for the main display.
Remove any screws that hold the LED lighting in place inside the deck. Organize the screws you remove by placing them on a white piece of paper and labeling their positions on a diagram or by making detailed notes.
Remove LED lights by unplugging them from their wiring harnesses, if possible. Replace the removed lights with LED lights of the same size in the color you choose.
Mix a thin solution of colored acrylic paint and several drops of water. Apply this paint solution to any clear bulbs that don't unclip from wiring harnesses, or if you don't have replacement LED lights available. Wait for the paint to dry before applying additional layers for a darker color or reassembling the deck for testing.
