GE Quick Clamp Plug Directions

The GE Quick Clamp Plug allows you to quickly and easily replace the plug on an electrical wire without stripping the wire. Quick clamp plugs are ideal for people without electrical repair experience because they leave less room for error from improperly stripping the wire. You can use the GE Quick Clamp Plug to repair the wires on indoor home appliances and electronics that have size 16 or 18 gauge, 125V cords.

Instructions

    • 1

Unplug the cord you are repairing from the wall socket.

    • 2

Cut the cord at least 1 inch from the plug with a pair of wire cutters. Make the cut as straight as possible so it sits properly in the quick clamp plug.

    • 3

Open the locking clamp on the quick clamp plug. Insert the cord into the end of the quick clamp plug until it stops.

    • 4

Close the locking clamp to secure the cord. Plug the wire into the wall socket to verify that it works. If it does not, unlock the clamp and make sure the cord is seated fully in the quick clamp plug.
