Screw a 1-1/2 foot galvanized pipe section into both ends of a copper four-way connection. This is the base of the stand.
Screw a 3-foot galvanized pipe into the top section of both T connectors.
Attach a second T connector to the other end of the 3-foot pipes. Attach it so that one of the open ends points in the same direction as the pipe and the other end points in a perpendicular direction.
Stand up both pipe sections that you have been building. Make sure the T connectors on top of the two-foot pipes have perpendicular open ends that face each other. Screw a 2-foot pipe into both T connectors. This will connect the two sides of the pipe rack together.
Add a second 3-foot section to the top open end of the T connectors to increase the height of the rack.
Attach elbow connectors to the top of the second 3-foot pipes. Have the elbow on the two pipes face each other.
Screw a 2-foot pipe to both elbows. The end result should be a free standing pot and pan rack. It has two pipes that are horizontal to the floor, one that is 3 feet high and another 6 feet high.
