How to Adjust a Miter Saw

A miter saw is a popular tool that can be used in many types of carpentry work. The saws are available as both manual and power tools, although the power version is most prevalent nowadays. Miter saws can be adjusted to cut wood at different angles, with some models allowing even tiny incremental changes.

Instructions

    • 1

Release the locking mechanism on the miter saw. In most models this will be a knob on the front that requires counterclockwise turning to loosen.

    • 2

Loosen the angle set screw so the table of your saw can be easily adjusted by hand.

    • 3

Align the table to your desired angle.

    • 4

Tighten the angle set screw so the saw is secured firmly in place.

    • 5

Tighten the locking mechanism by hand, turning it clockwise.
