Clean the item that you'll be attaching the wood edging to. Remove any type of debris such as sawdust, grease or dirt. Wipe dust away with a damp cloth. For more heavily soiled items, clean with a solution of dish soap and water. Glue needs a clean surface for adequate attachment.
Spread a layer of yellow carpenter's glue over the surface of the wood edging that will attach to the object. Use a glue roller to coat the entire area and ensure adequate coverage.
Press the wood edging into place on the object.
Clamp the wood edging into place if possible. This helps to stop any shifting that may occur during the drying process.
Allow time for the glue to adequately dry before handling. Follow the directions on the package for specific drying time.
