Mix together the sawdust, liquid starch, flour and water in a bowl until it has stiffened. If you feel these quantities are too little for the size of the utensil holder you wish you make, add more of the ingredients so long as they maintain the ratio of 16:16:8:1 - sawdust: water: flour: liquid starch.
Coat the glass jar with vaseline. This will be used as the template for your utensil holder. Alternatively any cylindrical object with a baseccan be used so long as it is smooth. Apply the vaseline generously especially along the bottom.
Coat the outside of the jar with the wood dough making it about 1/2 an inch thick. Be sure not to cover the top of the jar since you will need to be able to slip the jar out of the wood once the dough has dried.
Allow the wood dough to dry for 3 days. Let it dry upside down or on wax paper so that the dough will not stick to any surface.
Sand the now dry wood dough with the sandpaper and slip out the glass jar. It should be easy to do if you applied enough Vaseline.
