Instructions for Double Drawer Slides

Drawer slides are ball-bearing drawer runners used to glide drawers in and out of cabinets. One set of slides is attached to the cabinet with the corresponding set attached to the drawer. They come from the factory as a single unit. When installing, you must separate and attach them in left and right pairs. They install easily with a cordless screwgun using screws that come with the package.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the package that contains the drawer slides. Separate them by reading letters stamped on the side of each component. Place the ones marked "L" on the left. Place the ones marked "R" on the right.

    • 2

Pick up the "L" runners and separate them. One will be marked "C," meaning it is for the cabinet. The other will be marked "D," meaning it is for the drawer.

    • 3

Pick up the "R" runners and separate them in the same manner -- "C" for cabinet, "D" for drawer.

    • 4

Place a framing square inside the cabinet. Flush the front of the square with the back of the face frame, flush with the top of the face frame that the drawer sits on. Use a pencil to draw a line across the front of the square from front to back of the cabinet. Do the left and right side.

    • 5

Hold the runner marked "L" and "C" to the top of the pencil line and screw it to the cabinet using the cordless drill and the screws that came with the package. Screw the runner marked "R" and "C" to the right side.

    • 6

Pick up the drawer. Flush the runner marked "L" and "D" to the bottom and front of the drawer, just behind the drawer front. Screw it to the drawer using the screws that came with the package. Flip the drawer over and screw on the remaining runner in the same manner.

    • 7

Pick up the drawer. Hold it from the front. Insert it into the drawer opening. There is a ball bearing on the end of the drawer runner. Insert the ball bearing into slots in the front of the cabinet runners that you just put on. Push the drawer forward to engage the runners together.
