Soak up as much of the urine as possible if the stain is still wet.
Wet a clean cloth and blot up as much of the stain as possible.
Soak a paper towel in hydrogen peroxide and place it over the urine spot. This will lighten the black stain that urine sometimes leaves on hardwood floors.
Place several layers of paper towels over the first one.
Place several books on top of the layer of hydrogen peroxide. The pressure will help force the hydrogen peroxide into the floor.
Leave the area alone for several hours. Rewet the paper towel as soon as it dries out. You may need to do this several times.
Remove the books and paper towels.
Wipe the area with a water-dampened cloth and dry it completely before sanding.
Pour bleach directly onto the stain.
Let the bleach sit for at least 15 minutes.
Add more bleach if the bleach soaks into the wood but the stain is still visible.
Let the bleach sit for another 15 minutes until the stain is removed.
Wipe the area with a cloth soaked in clear water. Dry it completely before sanding it.
