Check the circuit breaker or fuse if the saw does not start. The plug may have come loose from the wall outlet. Use only an approved extension cord for powering the band saw motor. Using too small of a cord may cause the breaker or fuse to consistently trip.
Tighten all bolts on the stand and the saw with the crescent wrench. Loose bolts cause the saw to vibrate while cutting. Check the tension on the saw blade, keep it tight and cut only with a sharp blade. Loose and dull blades create erratic cuts and unnecessary vibration to the saw.
Ensure the rubber transfer belt is tight and in good condition. Replace the belt if pieces are missing on the contact side of the belt.
Prevent breaking blades by inspecting the blade welds before installing them on the saw. Keep the upper tracking bearing low to the work piece. This ensures accurate cuts and prevents blade breakage as well.
Check the rubber tires on the drive wheels, as excessive wear causes blade movement and breakage.
Ensure the saw and the saw support stand are placed on a dry and level surface. Uneven ground or soft support conditions can cause the saw to tip over and create erratic cutting situations.
