Instructions for a Craftsman Miter Saw

Craftsman miter saws have features many other miter saws do not have. For example, the Craftsman miter saw has an adjustable work clamp so you do not have to hold your wood in place while you cut. Therefore, the instructions for working the miter saw are slightly different from standard miter saws without the work clamp installed. However, the process of cutting with this miter saw is not much different from any other miter saw.

Instructions

    • 1

Rotate the angle adjustment lock located in the front of the miter saw counterclockwise to unlock it, set the angle of the cutting blade and then rotate the lock clockwise to lock it in place. This will set the angle of the miter cut across the face of your wood board.

    • 2

Turn the hand wheel on the work clamp counterclockwise to open up the clamp. Open the clamp until you can fit your piece of wood between the clamp and the fence.

    • 3

Place your wood against the fence and slide it under the blade until you have the wood where you want to cut it.

    • 4

Turn the hand wheel clockwise to lock your piece of wood against the rear fence.

    • 5

Turn the saw blade on by pulling the trigger located in the handle.

    • 6

Lower the saw into the wood's surface until the saw cuts completely through. Let go of the trigger and let the saw blade completely stop before raising the blade back up.
