How to Make a CPU Holder With Casters

Computers are everywhere in homes and offices, and sometimes all this equipment can get in your way. Many standard desktop models have a CPU tower that sits on the floor beneath desks. A problem with desktop CPUs is the inability to move them easily to have more space around your desk. To remedy this problem, you can make a simple CPU holder that has casters on the bottom. This will allow you to move the CPU around your desk just enough so you can have more space when necessary.

Instructions

    • 1

Use a tape measure to measure the length and width of your CPU. Add 1 inch to each measurement for extra space.

    • 2

Transfer the measurements to a piece of 1/4-inch-thick plywood. Use a wood saw to cut out the rectangle for the CPU platform.

    • 3

Cut two 1-inch-high strips of 1/4-inch plywood the length of the CPU platform. Place a small bead of wood glue to attach these strips to the CPU platform.

Connect the strips permanently to the CPU platform with 3/4-inch finish nails.
