Do it Yourself Garbage Can Holder With Wheels

Few things are as annoying as finding that your garbage cans have been knocked over by the wind and that garbage has been strewn all over your driveway. If you are tired of cleaning up after the garbage can, you can design and build your own garbage can holder. You can avoid the cost of buying one, and can even add wheels to the bottom for greater convenience. By adding wheels to the bottom of the holder, you will be able to roll the garbage can securely from place to place.

  • Four office chair wheels
  • Screws

Instructions

    • 1

Drill screw holes with an electric drill for each office chair wheel you will attach at each corner of the 30- by-30 inch square of wood. Screw one office chair wheel to each corner of the 30-by-30 inch piece of wood.

    • 2

Put one 2-by-4-by-30 inch piece of wood on top of another to form an "L" shape. Hammer the two pieces together into that shape using a hammer and nails.

    • 3

Place another 2-by-4-by-30 inch piece of wood so it connects with the end of one of the pieces in the same way as the first one, parallel with the bottom piece of wood. The shape should look like a "U." Hammer it in place like the first piece.

    • 4

Hammer another piece across the other side of the two bottom pieces of wood to form the square. Nail the two bottom pieces to the 30-by-30 inch board with wheels at the bottom.

    • 5

Continue hammering the 2-by-4-by-30 inch pieces on to the square in the same pattern of two parallel bars underneath two other parallel bars. Once you have connected all 38 bars of wood in this way, the holder will be complete.

    • 6

Place the garbage can inside the holder.
