All in One Wood Tools

Wood turning is a more sophisticated method of woodworking. Wood turners use a lathe to create many different types of wooden objects, ranging from simple bowls to intricate finials. Wood turning is distinguished from other types of woodworking because the wood moves while a stationary tool shapes it.
  1. Lathes

    • All in One lathes take advantage of modern principles of ergonomics for today's wood turner. According to the company's website, the All in One lathe has a bed design that reaches "almost perfect torsional rigidity," and a new tool rest base design. The company produces four large lathes with a standard precision spindle, bed construction, headstock, tailstock and tool rest base. The models vary according to leg heights and three different horsepower packages.

    Chucks

    • All in One manufactures three different types of chucks for wood turning. These include the original "one way" chuck, the larger " stronghold" chuck, and the latest, " talon." The stronghold's capacities are slightly larger in spindle size than the original and talon, which will not fit spindles larger than 11/4 diameter inches. A machinist designed All in One chucks after consulting with material, heat treating and plating specialists, according to the company's website.

    Easy-Core Bowl Coring System

    • All in One has developed what it refers to as an " Easy Core Coring System." According to the company's website, this system has almost no vibration, as the knife rides on a curved tool rest as coring progresses.

This allows the wood turner to clear the wood chips easily, without any catches, and produce more bowls than traditional coring systems.

    Buffing System

    • All in One's has developed a buffing system that can help wood turners create a high gloss sheen for turned objects, using an oil-based finish to create an ultra-smooth finish. The All in One buffer is fabricated from a long strip of cloth, cut on the bias, wrapped and mounted on an arbor. This system, according to the company's website, lasts longer and prevents threads from being flung from the buffer. The buffing kit includes firm, medium and soft buffing wheels, two buffing compounds and a hard finishing wax. An arbor in the kit fits a 3/8 drill chuck for use in a lathe or drill press.
