How to Remove the Blade Guard Pin From a Craftsman Table Saw

Craftsman table saws include safety mechanisms to protect the user from injury. One of those mechanisms is a clear plastic blade guard that flips over the blade. The blade guard is attached to the saw table with a spring washer, flat washer, an external tooth lock washer and a mounting bolt. There is also a splitter bracket, an oval washer and a pin, called a pivot rod. The whole assembly must be correctly aligned so that the cut work piece passes on each side without binding. Sometimes you might need to remove the parts.
