How to Mount a Table Saw

Table saws don't have to be mounted on their included leg set -- they can be mounted onto any work surface. Certain conditions need to be in place for the setup to work properly though. A hole is required in the surface of the table that's to be used so that sawdust can fall through it. In addition, mounting holes have to be drilled to hold the saw in place during jobs. Mounting a table saw to a work bench can be accomplished through preparing the bench, and fastening the saw.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Square the saw on the work bench and mark the location of the four mounting holes. On a Craftsman manufactured saw, they will need to be 3/8-inch holes. However, your manufacturer's specifications may be slightly different. Measure the mounts on the saw and vary your holes accordingly. Then drill the holes.

    • 2

Mark an 11-by-11-inch square between the holes and cut the square out with a jig saw, or similar saw. This large hole will allow sawdust to be removed.

Fasten the saw to the work surface by placing the saw on the surface and aligning the mounting holes with the ones you've drilled. Then attach the saw with the supplied bolts.
